Any time! You can use the old one to carry picnics around. I'm carrying my 20 year old messenger bag tonight so I can bring non hurty shoes and jeans in case I need to change. It is still my favorite bag.

I will probably keep the old one for travel. So roomy, so many pockets.

Exactly. Even when they're not as good for daily abuse, they still have a place.
