Many years ago I decided I wanted to do a coffee table book about Seattle bathrooms and the businesses they're in. A city guide, but one that would center on the most important amenity of each place reviewed.
It's really easy to keep putting a project like that off because it's a huge undertaking, so I naturally kept putting it off. Yesterday after seeing Julie and Julia I decided to finally get started, in blog format. Why put off a fun project because you're worried about presenting it all at once?
I didn't really need to register a domain to do this, but I decided to anyway because I didn't want to worry later on about the URL at the blog being unavailable as a domain name if I wanted it. I wanted something short, so I grabbed
SeaWC.com, which points to
SeaWC.blogspot.com. I'm not on any sort of schedule, so it'll be updated when I can get to places and take pictures.
I'm well aware that the Stranger had a "best bathrooms" feature a while ago, which was making fun of a "best restaurants" feature in the Weekly the same week. I'm not out to make a big list or cover the same territory, I want to write about places and get lots of photos, and it's primarily for fun.
I'm glad to live in an age where it's so easy to do something so dorky.
