Golden Snooze

I typically watch a little bit of a movie or show via Netflix Instant once I get into bed. I can be very sleepy on the couch in the living room, but getting up and heading to bed will always wake me up a bit. I noticed that Stephen King's Golden Years was available, so I decided to give it a shot. I remember when it was playing, they advertised it constantly, but I didn't know anything about it since the ads just showed a clock. But they showed the ads a lot. Like, a lot lot.

Man, they really can afford to be boring when they're making a miniseries. They don't have to edit down nearly as much as they would if it were a movie, and you can tell they want to leave in as much as possible. I swear, I'm barely an hour into it and almost nothing has happened.

I'm not even at the end of episode 1 after five or so nights, and there are seven total episodes. I might have to give up.

Anyone ever see it? Is anything interesting going to happen?

Uhm... yeah, don't watch it.

It's actually supposed to be 8 episodes long. They never aired or released the last one, so the series just ends abruptly and is never finished. It pissed me off. Just like My So Called Life.

Oooh, thanks for the tip.

How could they not even release it? I get that the network might never air it, but for it to never be available anywhere? Silly.

My So-Called Life and Sarah Connor Chronicles always make me so sad to think about.

Ack, sounds painful. Let me know if it ever gets good (if you continue with it, that is!)

I gave up. There's way too much good stuff to watch to bother watching crap that's not even entertainingly bad. I started watching ExTerminators with Jennifer Coolidge instead.

Yeah, I love about 80% of Stephen King's stuff, but sometimes he just misses the mark.
