Lemon, it's Wednesday
Finally after all the months of waiting, yesterday was my first day officially teaching. Some of my pals from Everett joined, and I'm so glad they did. We started with seven in the class and had an eighth join partway through. This is Debbie, Chrissie, Heather, and Ivy just before class.

A few other people walked and did other things in the pool nearby, which they would not be able to do on Connie's days as the class gets big enough that the pool is for the class only. Technically it's also just for the class on my days, but there's no reason to enforce that during a small class unless those extra people interfere.
Some branded tank tops are on their way to me but for now I just have a couple of t-shirts, and it's a lot more obvious how sweaty I am in one as opposed to a nice black tank. Keep in mind, this is after wrapping things up and driving all the way home.

I have another even lighter shirt I'm wearing right now for today's class, and tomorrow I'm switching over to tank tops. Yes, that's plural. I was asked Monday if I could sub for Everett's 11:15am Thursday class, and I said yes. Yesterday left me completely wiped out, which was another reminder that I need to do less while I instruct. I also may have forgotten to turn on the fan. Since I need coverage on July 18th for sure and perhaps even more if something I'm working on pans out, it was best to agree to cover this week. So that's two classes tomorrow a few hours apart from each other, with the second being in a notoriously warm facility without a fan.
Sometimes you just have to smile and sweat your way through.
I wore a new-to-me pair of shorts from the thrift store yesterday, taking care before leaving to squat and do a bunch of different movements to ensure they wouldn't tear. That would be a disaster, as men's sports undergarments provide lots of support and minimal coverage simultaneously. As an insurance policy, I'll always have an additional pair of shorts in my bag. And my bag is a music stand bag since I use one for my lesson outline. A nice big black rectangle I can hide behind if I have to run to the restroom or locker room and change.
