The day the owner of this SUV will torch it for insurance money?

The next inauguration day after Obama.

This, and the fact that the lettering is red suggests they're probably Republicans.

The day I culd be potentially happy

You are incapable of happiness during a democratic presidency? I think you need to take more responsibility for your happiness.

It shouldn't be a surprise that I am not a democrat, hence the absence of obama icons and posts about him 24/7 during the last election season.

Personally, I identify more with the libertarian party as I am socially liberal but fiscally conservative but they don't have electable candidates so I normally vote republican.

And I am happy about almost everything else just not about Obama.

Well that's good, then.

I'm sorry but I do not remember seeing these 5 months after Bush took office.

Oh, I'm sure they were around.

Now that someone's had the idea, you'll start seeing them after EVERY election.

Yes but I think I saw them very quickly after this election. Like a good friend said, we took their ball. The republican establishment in DC has had power for a long time and are really having a difficult time adjusting to not having it. I'm not saying Obama is without fault, mind you, but that isn't the point here :)

That is the day his auto warranty may expire. I sure hope that he reactivates warranty coverage before they close his file!

Actually, your initial comment sounded more to me like you were anti-Obama. =P

President Obama, how is your administration preparing for the eventual devastation that the end of the Aztec calender will cause?

I'm curious - if you're socially liberal but fiscally conservative, by your reasoning, you shouldn't have been voting for anybody. As far as I can tell, most Republicans that have been running for office are neither, and appear to me to have completely abandoned traditional conservatism.

I won't sit here and say that the Republican party is perfect , they definitely need to get their act together but overall, I would chose Republican over Democrat when I vote. Understanding that for the presidential election, WA state's electoral college generally votes Democratic, I feel like my vote doesn't count but I still vote because I am proud of that right.

I remember seeing a ton of them throughout his presidency, mostly after he was elected his second term. And the end of an "error" stickers too. I try to ignore bumperstickers for all sides, esp ones that are dated. I personally think bumperstickers are lame but whatever makes people happy lol

Bumperstickers are dumb but not as dumb as yellow "conspicuous donation but only a dollar" bracelets.

hahaha totally agreed. If one wants to be philanthropic, they should do it for the cause and not for the attention that is brought to them for being a "good person." But whatever motivates people to give to others....

meh, it doesn't really matter what I think anyway. It's not like I am cutting myself over it. Ok, back to work because I have to contribute to our tax system!

I wouldn't entirely place all of the blame on him. Think about the greedy banks and corporations who did some major damage to our financial market with their selfish ways. There's always more to the story than just blaming one person and while I didn't always approve of what Bush did, I refuse to put all the blame on him.

Date: 2009-06-11 06:33 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] badrobot68.livejournal.com
I know, I was teasing. The entire system has been broken for a very long time, and the blame falls on both sides.

if he does not i am sure he will get about 500 calls reminding him to purchase an additional warranty since those fuckers can get through to damn near every phone.

Someone would have to come up with the most awesome and versatile bumper sticker EVER for me to actually place one on my vehicle.

I always worry about how I would get the thing off without scratching the car up if I wanted to sell it.

I see the magnetic ones and I think its a cool idea until I factor in the sun damage on the paint if the magnet is never rotated.

So, I'm curious... if you don't think voting R counts, why not just vote Libertarian and give their numbers an extra boost?

Date: 2009-06-12 02:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] frogger414.livejournal.com
That's not entirely a bad idea. Will look into the Libertarian candidates more next voting season.

Screw over the IRS and save time and money by making less than $8,950 a year (http://www.theonion.com/content/tips/tax_preparation_tips).

From: [identity profile] frogger414.livejournal.com
Why would I screw over the IRS when its Congress making the actual tax laws? The IRS just enforces the tax laws no matter how ridiculous they are.

From: [identity profile] strand.livejournal.com
Vulcans have no sense of humor.

And I went with The Onion's phrasing because it is slightly funnier to "screw over the IRS" than to "screw over the gov'mint".

You pay your taxes? Because it's your responsibility as a citizen? Then you're alright in my book.

From: [identity profile] frogger414.livejournal.com
I understood your humor in your comment, my comment was more to correct a common misconception about the IRS' role in creating tax law. It's kind my duty as an accountant :)
