Yesterday I followed the Lifetime Unauthorized Melrose Place Story with the Lifetime Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 story, not realizing yesterday was the 30th anniversary of 90210's first episode. I also didn't realize that I'd end up dreaming about the Melrose Place one, but in my version, they double-casted every role and eliminated one of everyone based on performance in rehearsals right up until time to shoot the first scenes. That's funny because if you've watched season 1 of Melrose Place, you can tell they didn't rehearse, and the Unauthorized Melrose Place Story confirms that.

These are fun and should be watched in the opposite order because that's the order the shows were made in. Some of the casting is the same in both movies but oddly, one woman plays a different agent in each and her role in the Melrose Place one didn't make it onto the IMDb entry.

And the casting of Abbie Cobb as Jennie Garth is the most brilliant biopic casting I've ever seen. She looks so much like her I could barely believe it.

Last night in bed I saw a familiar face on Smallville and it took me a bit to place him.

That's Todd from Love It or List It! A lot of reality people have done acting and vice versa but it never occurred to me that anyone from the LIOLI or LIOLI2 might have done anything I've seen. Other than Hilary, who I learned late last year has a very small role in Rocky Horror Picture Show as Betty Munroe aka Mrs Ralph Hapschatt. (Hap-shit!)

So I looked Todd up on IMDb and was surprised to find a fair amount of acting roles, even a role as a dancer on Absolutely Fabulous. I definitely needed to see that, so I watched the episode while I drank my coffee before PT this morning. But I didn't spot him in the group of five dancers so I google "Todd Talbot" and "Absolutely Fabulous" together in quotes and found that there's another Todd Talbot, who's a professional dancer.

It surprised me that Todd lets a credit that doesn't belong to him remain in his IMDb, but of course it's always possible he's never even looked at it. I signed in and submitted the correction.

He had a role on something dramatic-looking called Fifteen for a couple of years starting when he was 18 or so. I'll definitely be looking at clips of that soon. It also says he's a dancer in Josie and the Pussycats, and it's been far too long since I saw that one.

Friday the 13th part 7 and Weekend at Bernie's came out within a year of each other and are two of my favorite movies, but I never realized this dude (Terry Kiser) was in both until I saw him just now in Tammy and the T-Rex. I've been on IMDb pretty much every day since 1996 and I'll never get tired of it.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, but moving is definitely not fun right now. Someone I know locally posted on Facebook about the Strength Together class at the YMCA and swears by it, so I decided to check it out yesterday. Unfortunately my lower back issues crept up because we stood in place a lot lifting weights, but otherwise it's a pretty cool class! And highly effective. I was very weak and wobbly after, and now I'm very stiff and sore.

That's totally expected, but now I'm very motivated to get my back feeling better so I can go back to the class and do well in it. That means it's time for more yoga. Ever do yoga while you're exhausted from full-body strength training? That's what I did yesterday and it was pretty difficult. Today was even harder now that I'm sore all over.

That was this afternoon. I started the day with some time in the hot tub, then swimming that included a lot of stretching in the water. I even came up with a new way to stretch my back backward!

Anyway, the whole thing kept reminding me of the show L.A. Doctors from 1998. There was an awesome scene where one of the doctors went to talk to another in her office, and she looked like she was paying far too close attention to what he was saying. He finally asked what was up, and she said, "I can't move." I can't remember why, but she was paralyzed in her chair.

I decided to look up who it was, and it turns out it was Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks!

I wish commercials were on IMDb. I hate when I can't place someone from a commercial. Thankfully while typing this I realized that the guy who finds the hidden man cave next to the kitchen in the VW commercial is either Wes Bentley or a dude who looks enough like him that the glow from the man cave in his eyes is reminding me of the light from the TV when Ricky Fitts shows the video of the most beautiful thing he ever saw, which was a plastic bag swirling around in the wind.

The dog in The Boy Who Could Fly is the same dog that's in Nightmare on Elm Street 4 and The Hidden. And a couple of other movies I've never heard of, including Two Moon Junction, where Sherilyn Fenn plays a "young Southern débutante temporarily abandons her posh lifestyle and upcoming, semi-arranged marriage to have a lustful and erotic fling with a rugged drifter who works at a local carnival." I need to see this. Neat what you can find when you look up animals on imdb.

We're watching the episode of Shameless where Liam's in the ER because he got into the pile of coke, and I recognized the nurse. I was about to give up trying to figure out from where, but then I spotted in her filmography that she was the main character on Boston Common, a sitcom I was thinking about recently anyway.

Watched an episode of Night Court on demand to kill time and it ended up being the one where Harry tried to date a rock star named Jennifer Black. I had to look the actress who played her up because she looked so much like LeAnn Rimes, I figured she might be Donna Rimes or something. Turns out she's Kristine DeBell, and she stars in A Talking Cat?!? as well as A Talking Pony?!?, but does not play the same character in both. Huh.

I played the word "toe" in Word Trick and it made me think of the acress Toy Newkirk from Nightmare on Elm Street 4. That probably would not have happened, but I recently read Robert Englund's memoir, and she was one of actresses he specifically mentioned. Decided to see what she was up to, and it turns out she has produced all the episodes of Hulu's little entertainment show, The Morning After, which I had forgotten all about and am surprised still exists.

I just saw a post on tumblr which was a link to something I didn't bother clicking on, but the caption was, "Can't hear this without thinking of Valley Girl." Even though I've thought about the song "Valley Girl" a lot in the last few days because I follow Moon Zappa on Twitter, I knew this was about the movie for some reason.

I pictured Deborah Foreman asking Val Kilmer if he could hammer a six-inch spike through a board with his penis, and then realized that's from Real Genius. IMDb confirmed that Deborah Foreman was also the titular Valley Girl from the movie. I haven't seen Real Genius in at least eight years, and it's been another five or so more for Valley Girl.

The human brain is amazing. Or, at least, mine is.
