Here's the thing, it takes a good eye to spot the artful scene, and extra good eye to frame it properly to bring out the beauty that the eye sees, in the camera. That part's the hard one.

You bring up a really good point.

When I was in journalism school. I was out walking with a classmate one day. He suddenly dropped down on the ground and started framing up a shot of the gutter and a fire hydrant. I got down and peered over his shoulder. I saw nothing unusual. I thought he'd lost it.

Later in the darkroom I saw the print coming up from that shot. It was a breath taking photo of debris leading the eye to the rusting hydrant. It was amazing.

Seeing this shot in the first place is the sign of the artist at work.
