Date: 2009-12-23 06:56 am (UTC)The majority of licensed games really were pretty dire, though. Robin Hood, Willow, Back to the Future II-III, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. The Double Dare game--the quiz portion was okay, but the obstacle course section has the worst controls I've ever experienced.

Date: 2009-12-23 04:12 pm (UTC)I think I rented the Fester's Quest game and liked it okay. Definitely Nintendo hard!
I remember playing the MTV "Remote Control" game and being frustrated by it, but I can't remember why. And it seems like I played a Jeopardy game that was super-picky about how you typed the answer in, but I can't remember if it was on NES or our ancient IBM PC with no hard drive and just two 5.5" floppies.
The Ducktales and Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers NES games were pretty good.
I had the Star Trek: The Next Generation game for the SNES, and it was interesting, but pretty damn impossible unless you had maps of every planet. Nintendo Power magazines provided some, but beyond those I was lost. I did like that you had to use different members of the crew for different missions, because of their abilities. Like on one planet there wasn't any oxygen, so the only one you could send was Data. (Guess they lost SCUBA technology in the future.)
Semi off-topic: If you haven't already seen these, go read--

Reviews of hacked roms, full of shitty graphics changes and adolescent sex humor. Hilarious!
