Speaking of The Central...
Jun. 16th, 2007 09:36 amThere's something you should know about The Central. Their $3 happy hour doubles are an excellent deal, but when happy hour ends at 7pm, a double well is $10. I've never seen such a huge jump in price at the end of happy hour, and was about to say I'd never had a $5 well vodka anywhere unless the well was SKYY or better. But it's in Pioneer Square, and a $5 vodka shot served from a gun is actually pretty normal, and I've paid that price at the Fenix.
The reason I'm telling the story is that when she said "ten dollars" I yelled "woah!" and embarrassed myself. I said I'd pay, of course, and she said, "Oh, you've been here for a while, let me charge you the happy hour price." I didn't think that was exactly the right solution, either, so I tipped her $5.
