Yeah, but if a hurricane destroys New Orleans, it's because the gays were going to have their annual gay party, that big ol' Gay-Off.
I remember a short while after Katrina, when my mother and grandmother were talking about it, my grandmother said, "They were about to have a big Gay-Bash down there, weren't they?"
Disgustedly, I thought, "Gay bash... do you even know what that MEANS?"
Mom clarified for her. "No, Mama, they moved it somewhere else."
Knowing where Mom and Grandmother get all their information (right-wing Christian radio & newsletters), why would said outlets even mention said "Gay-Bash" in conjunction with Katrina, except to insinuate that the former somehow caused the latter? Such poison.
Like how people are saying how God struck New Orleans was hit b/c it's such a sinful town, and yet, the French Quarter was spared. However, most of the poor black folks got it the worst, and continue to be totally screwed over by the gummint. I guess by their "logic," God must actually just hate poor black people.
