Company posts an ad for a copy editor, and expects him to be able to "multi-taks." Is this a test that's supposed to be mentioned in the cover letter, or did it happen because they really need the copy editor that the ad is for? That is a thing that makes me go hm.

Do the manuals of style they mention dictate not using a word, such as "individual," three times in three sentences? Would these manuals also suggest that commas come immediately after a word, and not just before the next word (as in "branding ,and")? I think both your ideas are correct. It is a test, and it's a test because they really do need help.

Or it could be that recruiters don't bother with silly stuff like proofreading.
