Date: 2011-02-14 02:57 am (UTC)In the epic Christgate or whatever it's getting called, I take the stance of "Ignore the opinions others have of you if you don't agree with why they have those opinions in the first place", and feel pretty neutral on the whole thing. I wasn't ready, and don't think I'll ever be ready, to stop being friends with someone because their opinion or beliefs aren't the same as mine. Live and let live, I guess.
But eh, now i'm defending myself, and I suspect I don't have to, especially to you ;)

I also suspect it was intended to "stir shit up" which was less than tasteful.
In the end, like minds will end up drawn closer, and people who are supposed to hate each other will end up farther apart.
It seems natural progression, and I was surprised at the coexistence from the get go. I always sort of wondered why things hadn't blown up already once I met everyone, but I guess people don't want to hurt feelings?
