Hell, frozen over
Jan. 2nd, 2007 01:53 amMore crazy weather, this time in the form of snow down in Albuquerque. The most snow I've ever seen in my life. The scary part was seeing it start to melt while going into a movie and thinking the worst had come and gone, only to come out of the movie to find the entire city being swallowed up by fog. We barely made it home as it was all starting to freeze back up. The national guard had to be called in to bring food and water to motorists stranded on the interstate. Many were without power, including us for one night. Many flights were canceled, including mine. They told me this morning they couldn't get me back to Seattle until Wednesday, but after waiting in line for 2 hours at the airport in the standby line, I was able to get a ticket home tonight via Las Vegas. Then I had to wait about 45 minutes for my suitcase, and another 45 minutes for a cab.
I am so glad to be back.
