Good morning!
Feb. 5th, 2007 08:47 amLately I've gotten myself into a comfortable little rut. I got up each morning, read stuff, went to a vietamese restaurant, ate lunch, went to a vietnamese deli to pick up a sandwich for dinner, went to work, came home, read stuff, watched part of a movie, and went to sleep. All of a sudden on Friday I realized that a year went by and almost nothing happened.
My writing has been severely neglected this whole time. Saturday night I had a long talk with Jackson and realized I had to make some drastic changes. Last night I wrote a bit of my book that was gurgling in my head, and when I finished that up I dug out my handwritten pages and started transcribing them. I used Google Docs for both of these so that I can work on them anywhere there's an internet connection.
I had also bought groceries earlier in the evening, and made myself dinner after I was done writing for the evening. And now I'm up an hour earlier than normal, and I'm going to make myself breakfast and something to take with me to eat at work. I'm also drinking coffee I made myself for the first time in ages. And I'm listening to my CDs for the first time in years, and ripping them while I do so I can freshen up the stale playlist on my iPod.
Did I need to get up an hour early to do all this? Not at all. I want time to write before work. And I'm excited enough about all this that I was wide awake 20 minutes before the alarm.
I'm not dumping the vietnamese food entirely. I figure I'll do that a day or two a week. It has been a while since I wrote a review.
