I finally went shopping yesterday. After breakfast at the food court down the road, one of the first orders of business was to get a picture of the apartment on the way by. I'm staying on the 15th floor of the center buidling.

The place is gated and heavily guarded, as most apartments, offices, as malls are around here. The guards here don't carry rifles like the ones at the office do, though. Every guard everwhere I've been has the exact same moustache, except one at the apartment who has a really rad one that covers the upper parts of his cheeks.

I got presents for people while my coworker Jude visited his cousin a couple of miles away. I bought tons of cheap little things but ended up also grabbing a few expensive items. I was a little bit shocked when the total came but decided my peeps are well worth it. I did feel like Kelly:
These souvenirs cost $300
These souvenirs cost $300
These souvenirs cost 300 fucking dollars
Let's get 'em!

The guy who was my personal shopping assistant is the one who took the photo of me in front of the mini Taj Mahal that I already posted. He wanted to know why I kept asking if he had any ducks, I explained that there was a dirty inside joke among me and my friends about a silent duck. He demanded to know more, so I tried to explain using hand gestures.

Everyone in the store was really sad to learn that I didn't have a girlfriend, because they had lots of lovely, expensive jewelry that would definitely be more expensive back home. I got some nice, less expensive stuff and tried to imply that I had a ton of women falling all over me at all times.

We picked Jude up and tried to go to one place with a name I can't remember, but turned back because of severe traffic. We decided to hit the government complex in Delhi which was pretty stunning. Here's Jude posing for a picture but nearly falling down because he stepped in a hole.

There are several other pictures back at flickr of this place.

I was pretty much done shopping but Jude needed to pick up a few things so we ended up at another store which was much nicer. I made an effort not to look for similar things at this store for fear that I'd find all the same stuff I'd just purchased earlier for less. Ignorance being bliss and all.

My driver has mad skillz. We pulled over to get a picture of this statue and he composed this shot for me by simply parking in the exact right spot.

Tonight is my last full night here. Tomorrow I will work from 4-9pm, come to the apartment, get my stuff, and head to the airport. I could put my packed bags in the van and just leave from work, but I'll want to change into shorts for the trip. I wish I had a vicodin like I did on the way here, I think that helped a lot.
