I spotted another poinsettia down the hall, so I guess maybe everyone got one. Not nearly as exciting that way.

I really want to travel more in 2008. Somewhere other than India. Milwaukee and Chicago (in that order) are pretty high on my list.

After spending the last third of my life in a relationship that was ultimately pretty frustrating, it might seem like I've got an exceptionally high level of patience. The opposite is actually true. I now get frustrated pretty easily.

The tattoo on my arm is the only good way I could think of to pay tribute to my mother. I missed the larger family gathering because everybody went to Lubbock, which is where she died, but I didn't meet up with the family until Albuquerque, at which point almost everyone had gone home. There wasn't a funeral, just as I don't expect for there to be one for me. I had to do something to help me deal with the guilt, though, and it has actually helped a lot. Everybody who asks about it is told that I got it for my mom. And it's not like I could dedicate a wing at a children's hospital to her or anything.

I've gotten a really nice taste of the good life lately. I hope people can tell how lucky I feel, but I also don't want to jinx anything, so sometimes I try to keep quiet.
