Christmas Catchemups

What a week! I realized a while back that our holidays definitely lack something now that we can't take a ten-minute bus ride to and from the Dina Martina Christmas Show. We've been a few times since moving up here, but it's a slog to go to Seattle just for a show. I saw that Jinkx Monsoon and Ben de la Creme had a Christmas show and asked Garrett if he'd be up for seeing them Saturday night, staying overnight, and seeing Dina as a Sunday matinee. We did that over the weekend and had a great time.





The set at Dina's show was very elaborate. Years ago, I saw her at On the Boards a couple of times, which is a nicer theater, but for the most part, it's always been shows at Re-Bar, one of Seattle's great dive bars. The setting in the photo above was a little surreal!

We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with Garrett's parents yesterday, and just did our annual photo.



Pretty sure this is the first time both of the boys appear to be looking straight into the camera. We lucked out. Click over to flickr if you'd like to see the outtakes.

Most years we wait until later for the photo because it helps if it's dark outside. I knew this one would benefit from some natural light, so it's nice to be already done. We're watching Batman Returns now and there's still tons of time after that for more movies and shows. Then just a two-day work week after that.
