How many amazing ideas and beautiful images have we lost from dreams that we just can’t remember? We’ve all woken up in awe with stars in our crusty eyes just unable to believe the unlikely architecture in impossible cities and beautiful conversations we were never able to have with dead friends and relatives while they were still around. Even nightmares often seem like the basis for amazing horror movies if we could only capture the disturbing things we saw and the surprising plot twists.

Why then, with all that I’ve seen that is now lost, do I still remember--very clearly--going down on Jon Lovitz in a dream three days ago?
