Saturday, June 29: I feel a little bit off in that "a cold is coming" way and text my brother and niece to ask if I should stay away from the gathering at his place the next day. They both say they're not worried. I'm glad for that because...

Sunday, June 30: I feel pretty good. We go over there and have a really fantastic time. As always. My sister-in-law definitely knows how to host. Important discussions are had, it's a day I'll never forget.

Monday, July 1: I'm sick. It's a cold.

Tuesday, July 2: My right eye is sealed shut when I wake up.

Wednesday, July 3: My left eye is even worse than my right eye, sealed shut with twice as much goo, and red all over. It's conjunctivitis. I can't remember if I've never had it, but Tuvix just had it for the first time and now I have it. Did I get it from him? Hard to say. I've been very careful to wash my hands after applying his medication, but what about when he rubs his own eyes and then possibly the rest of his head, and then I pet him? Hmmmm. Two drops of medicine in each eye, four times a day, for seven days begins today.

Thursday, July 4: I stay home while Garrett goes to the Independence Day gathering at his mom's place. This happens to be the first year in many (maybe every year since we bought the house?) that we're not having a party here. We've both been super busy and needed a break. Really glad for that today.

Friday, July 5-present: A whole lotta nothing. I'm on the mend now and am crossing my fingers because...

Wednesday, July 10: Tattoo appointment with Jimmy! My first since September. We were supposed to have a consultation session on Friday so the artwork would be ready but now we'll do it on the fly the day of. Not ideal but we've done it before.

Thursday, July 11: Tattoo appointment with guest artist Samantha. I saw a "have to have" in her "wanna do" designs. I can consult with her about the placement on Wednesday which is pretty important because I want this one and one of the ones Jimmy's supposed to do Wednesday very close to each other.

I'm sure I've said over and over how much I hate the way a day just drags on and on when exercise isn't part of it. It's even more of a drag now that my class is on hiatus and I'm out of the routine of creating new playlists. I was supposed to sub in Mukilteo Friday the 5th and had to cancel. Now my next sub date isn't until July 16. It'll be my first time doing it in weeks as well as my first time in that facility. And it's going to be interesting because my class isn't anything like what their regular instructors do. My official prediction is that half the people will love it and the other half won't care for it.

I was already overdue for a haircut going into all this and now it almost looks intentionally longer. It's not a bad look at the moment, but I only have a few days before it reaches a bad length and needs to come off. It could look good with a fade but I'd rather get free haircuts from Garrett than pay extra for that skill. But we've been avoiding each other for a week.

Not sure how this happened, but my last couple of colds went away a lot faster than I'm used to. Years ago, I almost never got a cold, but each one would linger for up to three weeks. Now they seem more frequent, but shorter. No clue how that works.
