It takes a lot to do this, you have to be losing fluids severly, like marathoning 75-80 degree weather and only replenishing with plain water.

Some people get water toxicity, there are mental illnesses that cause people to compusively over drink (and raves LOL)

I do like me some coconut water after a particularly drenching workout. I get enough NaCl in my diet but a like KCl is always nice.

I heart my camelback, I usually carry 3 liters of water, but we go on some epic hikes and stuff. It's so damn heavy. And at some point we always have the discussion about which is harder- carrying the water on your back, or near the end of hike- it's all out of the pack and now in your body. Then it eventually winds up in your bladder. For a boy, on hikes, no big deal, just find a tree. But for girls, a little tricker to unload.

But I couldn't hike without it.

Ahhh yes, that does sound difficult. Hiking in many layers can serve the same challenges for Gordon.
