When winter got all dark and wintery, I stopped walking across Marymoor Park each morning. Parks in the dark are just weird. But I was missing it, so I did it today, and ended up seeing more people on the trail than I can ever remember seeing in one day before when it was light out.

Do people like to go out in the dark more? I don't. Am I the weird one?

I didn't like running/walking in the dark either. I LOVED going out when it was dark, but still being out on the trail as it turned light.

But when it's dark dark and going to stay dark the whole time, I find it creepy and unsafe.

Oh yeah, I definitely love leaving in the dark and catching the sunrise. Best part of the day! But creeping around in the dark the whole time is a whole different experience.

What's funny is sometimes, I'd actually like to leave earlier, like yesterday when I woke up at 3:10 instead of 4:10 for no reason. But I just don't feel like it's early in the day until 4am, until then it's still late the night before and there will be scary people out instead of early risers.

i walk in the evenings at work and all summerspringfall we have the most wonderful park walk.

i won't do it in the winter. partly creep safety partly the issue of slippery footbridges and my work folks who are sometimes unsteady.

so we sidewalks, town walks, uphills of busy streets...just another month or so

Not at all weird. I used to rent a condo on W Lake Sammamish across from the 7-11 on the corner. (Is that 7-11 still there?) There's a greenbelt running in back of the complex that runs to Marymoor, I think. I always saw a ton of people walking it dark or light.

Oh, and I had a guy show me his penis and follow me on the trail in broad daylight. Walking that greenbelt got me nervous after that.

The 7-11 by Leary Way? Still there. Sometimes I'll take the bus one extra stop and get off there so there's a little more uphill walking before I get to the office.

I wish everybody who exposes themselves would fall into poison ivy.

you're not weird in my book, I don't like it either.
