I've ridden in a hot air balloon twice, and the silence when you are up there is amazing. The only thing you can hear is dogs barking at you. They HATE hot air balloons.

I've never done it, I figure if I did, I would be absolutely petrified and sit in the basket hiding the whole time since I'm afraid of heights.

I would be terrified. My Mom did it once and I was so scared she was going to fall out.

It's funny, because I'm terrified of heights, and generally won't even stand on the top rung of a step ladder, but being in balloon however far off the ground we were, was no big deal.

Yes, I remember going to the Balloon week as a kid, eating funnel cake early in the morning, etc. Albuquerque was the nearest "big city" (ha ha ha ha! feel free to join in laughing) from where I grew up. Only a 4 hour drive away as opposed to Denver, which was an 8 hour drive away.
