My last session with Jimmy knocked out three tattoos from my wanna-do list, and this one got a bit of a promotion. I planned for years to put it on my right palm, but after getting the M.C. Escher clowns on the back of my left hand, I reconsidered. Originally thinking I'd eventually think of something big and bold for my right hand, I changed my mind because I didn't want as much surface area to have to heal.

And I really like this design, so I didn't want to hide it on my palm.



Night of the Comet is one of my favorite movies. It's a perfect '80s time capsule for everyone who grew up then that sometimes wished everyone else would disappear. And it mixes horror, sci-fi, and comedy brilliantly. Without giving too much away, I'll say that there's a think tank who thinks they can save the human race, but they're not the good guys they think they are. And they have an excellent symbol for a logo, but most of the execution of it reveals the strain of making such a good movie for only $700,000.






At least that table looks good. I wonder how much was spent on the symbol and its execution in the movie versus what I spent for the tattoo. It could be close to the same amount!

Night of the Comet is currently free to watch on Tubi in the US and I can't recommend it highly enough.

omg i was wondering why the symbol looked familiar before i read through. Night of the Comet has SUCH good vibes, i can't explain it but I kind of love it in a 'cozy' way. And it has Robert Beltran which is a win/win for us trekkies who love him and his fine ass self =)

And it's an Eating Raoul reunion for him and Mary Woronov! She and her main Eating Raoul costar Paul Bartel have a cameo in Chopping Mall, which stars Night of the Comet's Kelli Maroney. I can't say Eating Raoul is great, but Chopping Mall sure is.

i've seen bits of chopping mall which looks like a delight-- i genuinely do want to check out eating raoul as well tbh!
