Jean Shepherd is best taken in binges. Rather than read one of his essays, for instance, or listen to one of his radion shows, you should read four books in one sitting, or watch the movies (there were two more after "A Christmas Story") for a full day, or listen to 8 hours worth of radio shows in one go.
