Flying with wrapping paper, originally uploaded by christopher575.

I've seen so many girls doing it today. Why? Just wrap it in the comics page
or buy some when you get there.

I've flown with wrapping paper before, but it;s only because I was able to get some cool paper at the airport, they have some things at the airport that you cannot find anywhere else... but I bought the sheet paper, not the rolled paper.

Merry Christmas by the way.. and a successful 2009.

Obviously it is to fight off terrorists on the plane.

Or snakes.

i've noticed for a lot of people it's like their ipod or their cell phone. they get a unique wrapping paper and make sure it is displayed so everyone knows they are a unique, special snowflake AND that they are considerate enough to buy presents for their loved ones.

i am sure there are some that are like "oh snap! i forgot!" but the majority use it for validation.

My family will be lucky to even get gifts ... Screw wrapping. They're all in shipping limbo. :(

I love gift bags even though they are kinda lame. Because I am wrapping-impaired. I agree with you, though. Unless presentation is very important, just buy any old wrapping paper when you get there.

hmmm

At first I thought that it was because the people with wrapping paper were thinking "this paper is perfect for the decor" but after reading this, I'm on your side. These wrapping paper people are just attention whores.

Not to mention that this paper will undoubtedly be damaged in the overhead bin. I wish I were there to hear the shrieks of agony when they jump up the SECOND the plane lands and retrieve their tube of smushed dead tree holiday cheer.

Some people aren't smart enough to realize that there ARE stores at their destination that sell wrapping paper.

I saw a woman bringing a role of wrapping paper on the plane with her today (flying from Boston to Chicago), and she was the first one to stow her soft-sided carry-on (which had the roll of wrapping paper in it) in the storage bin. I watched as person after person shoved their bags and coats into the same bin.

At the end of the flight, after all the bags and coats were removed from the bin, I smiled as I walked by and saw the once pristine roll of wrapping paper crushed and crumpled. I'm a horrible person.
