What if an American couple adopts two Chinese kids and the kids learn to gorge themselves on McNuggets and pie?

For that family of four, should they double the recipe so that there are at least 4 American-size servings? Or should they just make one batch and rely on that theoretical 3rd American-size serving being enough to feed the two Chinese kids?
