That phone ritual
Apr. 22nd, 2007 10:20 pmI've never had phones with a SIM card before, so getting a new phone has always meant having to re-enter all the names and numbers into my new phone. This is always a time to decide who you think you'll never call again, because it's not worth putting them into the new one. Sure, you may as well keep their number just in case, but if you really don't care whether or not you ever speak again, they aren't worth the space they'll take up any more.
There are a lot of people I wouldn't mind talking to or seeing, but it's really their turn to call me.
It won't bother me if they never do, though.

Date: 2007-04-23 05:55 pm (UTC)I have limited time and emotional energy - I'm not going to invest it on someone who's uninterested. I had one friend insist that he really did value our friendship, but then I never hear from him. His excuse is that he's just so 'busy' with his family and with work, but then talks about the stuff he does with mutual acquaintances on a regular basis. I'm always the one who initiates contact, too. So, no. If you're not contacting me occasionally, you obviously aren't all that interested.
True friends are too precious to waste time on false ones.
