Can anyone tell me why movies have whispery quiet dialogue and booming sound effects and scores? It's fucking annoying. Do they want everyone's neighbors to hate them?

Seriously! I'm partially deaf, so it's even more annoying when they don't at least include subtitles on the DVDs.

I also hate commercials that are eleventy times louder than the program you were just watching - or the commercial that aired just before it.

That's one thing I like about hulu.com, the commercials are almost always quieter than the show.
