I know from watching Jackass that pranks involving the welfare of children are generally not appreciated and I wanted to warn you to expect a mocktail in your face.
lol. I've been with plenty of preggo friends who have had a glass of red wine late in their pregnancy and its actually not bad for the baby. Sometimes people would give them dirty looks but really it's none of their business to begin with.
There's another school of thought that says that pregnant women should abstain from alcohol and that people should be concerned about the welfare of children around them whether or not they are born yet. But no matter what you do or say, you can't win because it's never your business until the cops come because you were minding your own business and then oh well.
The problem is that it is really hard to do experiments on pregnant women because who wants to put their unborn child in danger in the name of science? There are a bunch of perscrptions that are not tested on pregnant/lactating women because if they were to be risky that would be a big problem. So while people have their opinions on what impacts an unborn child, there are other factors that skew the results for all women because we are all different
I'd like to see a cop try and make a pregnant woman stop drinking in public if she is minding her own business and is not acting intoxicated in public. I understand that FAS is an issue but it really shouldn't be everyone's business what others are doing. Also one cannot assume a woman is pregnant from the way she looks, it could be extra weight or a woman won't look pregnant because she hides in well by clothes or body composition.
