I'm not normally a queasy person, but the crud that comes out of drains, particularly soapy old hairballs, literally makes me retch. Blood, guts and gore I can handle, but vomit and that, nofakingway.

I need one of these about 50 feet long though. I have a 15' drain snake that apparently isn't long enough.

Whenever I've had a shower drain problem I've usually caved in like an environmentally unconscious individual and used Drano. I've tried the drain snake approach before and it never quite clears up the problem.

You should take pics of what comes out of the drain.

One time when I was at a boarding high school in the mountains, one of the girls' dorm cabin shower drains became clogged. So they sent in a maintenance guy while everyone was out of the dorm at class. He used an unfolded wire coat hanger to fish out the massive hair clog lodged the in drain. It consisted of about 2.5 feet of wet, gooey hair and, mysteriously, had two (Two!) toothbrushes lodged in the top, as though they had been protruding from the drain before the clog's extraction.

I came back to the dorm after dinner one night and I was the first one to see it. The maintenance guy had tacked the hair-turd, hanging from the bent wire coat hanger, to the bathroom wall. When I saw it I screamed and for about 30 seconds we all thought it was a dead squirrel or something.
