I hope Viacom is laughed out of court
May. 13th, 2007 04:24 pmI was just listening to "Turn it On" by Flaming Lips and was hoping someone had put the video on youtube. Turns out it's there, uploaded by Warner Brothers. They've got 785 videos posted, and I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually post all the music videos they've got. And really, why wouldn't they? A music video is a commercial for an album, and any advertiser should be happy if their commercial gets free airings. It's just good for business.
And it's only tangentially related, but check out this excellent mash-up.

Date: 2007-05-14 04:35 pm (UTC)these companies are like, "you're stealing from us!" They're too greedy to realize that marketing is one of the biggest costs for a product, and YouTube posters are providing free advertising. We're saving you money, you stupid twats.
also I'm always amused whenever I see someone long out of high school doing a song or video of high school. It makes me channel Nelson. HA HA!
