This bill would expand the rights, responsibilities, and obligations accorded state-registered same-sex and senior domestic partners to be equivalent to those of married spouses, except that a domestic partnership is not a marriage.

I didn't either, but figured I'd look into it =)

I live by "try everything once", so I tried the marriage thing (never lived together, different states even, it worked great and we split when the benefits ended- long story). Thankfully, I am afforded the right to do so and wish everyone else had that luxury.
