I saw her story on the news last night and it made my blood boil. Not because of the disrespect she felt, but because she felt it at all. If I were her and my prime minister wrote me a letter expressing his condolences, there is absolutely no way I'd ever be so tacky as to proofread it and go complaining to the mass media. What a bitch!

As far as I'm concerned, she's the one who is disgracing her son's memory. I kinda wish I was over there now so I could hear all the chatter

And before anyone tries to say I just don't get it, I'll add a personal story. A couple of days after my mom died from complications related to her gastric bypass surgery, we got a card from the clinic wishing her all the best and a speedy recovery. It was truly awful but my family is sensible and understood that they probably just prepare them as the surgery is happening and send them out with that day's mail. We didn't flip out and call them and tell them they were so insensitive to our pain.

Look at the PM's handwriting. It's obvious one should be happy that he'd even take the tame to write such letters, since it looks like writing by hand is a painful and tedious exercise for him.

Also, if you name your kid "Jamie Janes" you're trying to trip people up on purpose.

Aw, so the Prime Minister went to the school of handwriting that doctors go to. she shouldn't have taken it too personally. I do understand the grief, but hello, he was deployed to Afghanistan. There are no unicorns and rainbows out there.

I heard the phone call with him on NPR yesterday morning and kept thinking, what is her motive for taping the phone call in the first place? If my son died, i think the last thing I'd do is record the phone call and blab about it. She clearly is against the war and turned the phone call into that too, which was kind of annoying. The guy is trying here and yeah the fact that he takes the time to write at all is pretty awesome. I hope that she can get past her anger and move on to honor her son instead of turning him into a tabloid freak show. There are stages of grief, I know, and apparently she's at step 2: anger.

Is there a "media whore" stage of grief?

On an unrelated note, I hate it when the media adds fuel to the fire by branding someone a "war hero" without stating what they did to earn the title "hero". Just because one enlists, doesn't make them a hero.

I bet she would have voted against Ref. 71.

Doesn't she have some grieving to do or something?
Total bitch.

This will be the last time a PM sends a hand written note. They will all be form letters from here on out. She's a star.
