Funny story, one time a coworker was working on an ad for a client (this is back in my agency days) and our insertion order system required a keyword right from the beginning. She didn't know what she was going to want it to be at the time so she put in "kinky sex". Well, she forgot, and sent the IO to the Seattle Times that way. They of course didn't use that keyword, but a coworker spotted it on the IO and made everyone a copy.

Doubt it. I've worked in account management, traffic, and copywriting and the only one of the three I'd really like to go back to is traffic. What I do now for my employer is kinda like a cross between account management and traffic, but a lot easier than either one of them and pays a lot better, too.

Plus, this is the first job I've ever had where I didn't have work-related nightmares all the time.

But I'd consider it if the right opportunity came along.

you know i didn't actually know what your job exactly is until now... what does traffic entail? is that like a project management / product type role?

In most larger agencies, the creatives and the account people aren't really allowed to talk to each other because they'll drive each other insane. The traffic manager is kind of a go-between who is responsible for knowing where everything is and who needs to do what next, and when. They basically run the whole agency from the perspective of getting jobs done, getting bids taken care of, and getting stuff out the door. They don't talk to clients, just vendors and coworkers. So it's like project management, except for every single project everywhere. :)

This is actually a really common thing to see in publications. I did high school newspaper and we took after this tactic as well. Fill in the blank to make sure the margins and text spacing work, then confirm the actual text later.

I even did that once for the name of the big Varsity football star under his picture for the paper at my Catholic school. He wasn't too thrilled when his name appeared as "Jock Douchebag, Class of 98" in that month's issue.
