He was annoyed and they all said, "We're trying to get you into the spirit". Sounds like he hates it.

I'm not "in the spirit" in that I don't decorate at all. I give/receive gifts cause that's what everyone I know does, but the holiday has no religious or other meaning for me.

But if someone did that to me, I'd be thrilled. It's hilarious, and the idea that people would spend that much time and effort to 'get' me would be humbling.
