Food label stupidity, originally uploaded by christopher575.

This is two flavors of the same brand of granola. A serving of one flavor is
1/3 cup, and the other is 1/2 cup.

They probably don't want people to freak out and not buy that flavor due to the calories, probably thinking nobody will realize the serving size is different.

I'm glad I kept my post vague enough so it's impossible to tell what I did and didn't notice.

That's what I figured, they're trying to keep the calorie counts around the same amount.

*edit* I am a moron.

Yet both serving sizes are 30g, with 11 total servings in each bag(which i'm guessing have the same amount). Hello typo.

And I assume it is the same size of bag? How are there 11 servings (of different sizes) in both bags that are the same size? WTF?

food is measured by weight, not volume. they're both 30g, different flavors probably have different densities, hence the difference in volumes.

the imperial volume units are given because consumers in the US use measuring cups more often than kitchen scales and the metric system.

The raisins in the denser one are surely behind this.

looks to me that they were measuring by weight instead of volume. they both say 30 grams, which i'm guessing means that one flavor of granola is more dense than the other.

oh i guess everyone else already said that sry lol
