Beouf Bourguignon, originally uploaded by christopher575.

I had today off, so I decided to tackle beouf bourguinon. You need a day off because the recipe takes over five hours. It turned out good, though! I served it over mini farfalle with a side of peas tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

OMG I haven't had that in so long. I just snagged my step-stepmom's recipe for it so I can make it next week. I am so glad you're enjoying cooking! :D

Please teach Kendra next :P

Gah I don't think I could teach anyone anything. That would require me to be able to cook while someone is watching. She'll just have to watch 4-5 cooking shows a day like I do.

I am going to tell her to do this. I get a lot of "What are you doing? I'm watching Star Trek in my underwear" texts. I will gently redirect ;)

*chuckle*

It's like, "dear, please do something more constructive. Get your Sandra Lee on, at least."

I should tell Chris the same. Someone spends way too much time eating sweets in front of the PC/mac, and also defers to me in all matters of cooking, like it's that hard. It's not like I'm that great at it. It just doesn't bore me like it seems to do to him.

In fairness, he does better when he tries to. And I put him through enough crap to not sweat the small stuff....

When people say that it used to creep me out, but now I know they aren't thinking about cutting me instead of mushrooms...or are they?

our dinner was different but looked strangely similar on the plate (sorry no photo). We had teriyaki chicken, basmati rice, and steamed asparagus. yum! :)

I've never had beef bourguignon, what is in it?

There are several variations (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=beout+bourguignon#hl=en&sa=X&ei=_zYjTZbPO4qCsQPF4pCxAg&ved=0CBIQBSgA&q=boeuf+bourguignon&spell=1&fp=fb0beceb888e9115) on the recipe, this (http://www.food.com/recipe/boeuf-bourguignon-a-la-julia-child-148007) is the one I used.
