  • 11:44:28: I love the pensive anxiety that's currently overtaking our cat Sam as we fill the bathtub.
  • 19:08:22: I heard a bunch of real disco tonight. By which I mean, not the stuff we remember because it charted. Good stuff!
  • 19:14:01: My favorite people are the people who use the same name on every online service.
  • 19:41:10: I think I've watched every episode of Ask Aida 3+ times. Still not ready to stop watching.
  • 20:27:30: Sign I have become too domestic: @aartipaarti zesting a lime upside-down on her show today rocked my world.

Because of keeping weird hours, I get to watch a lot of Cooking Channel very early in the morning, so I'm seeing the old episodes of Sara Moulton (which seems quaint now, and it's cute how her prep cooks did about 95% of the chopping for her), Molto Mario, just to see the random celebs sitting there, asking him questions (Isaac Mizrahi! Michael Stipe! Lidia's cute son, whose name I never remember!), and Aida. Like you, I watch and re-watch, even though they didn't produce that many eppys, so they cycle over and over constantly.

Also cute about Sara, is how short she is, and how they built the set to scale for her, and all of her guests tower over the counters. And I miss her Cooking Live show. At one point, she was so popular that she was doing one at 7PM, and then another at 10PM.

I never even heard of Sara Moulton until I watched the Chefography about Julia Child. I should set the DVR.

Cooking Live was one of Food Network's earliest shows, and she took calls and answered questions while she cooked. One day a week, they would have a 'cook-along', where they announced the ingredients beforehand, and you could watch and cook the meal in the same hour that Sara did.

They ran reruns of it for a while after she switched to Sara's Secrets, but I don't know if it would translate to Cooking Channel now.

Also watch for reruns of Melting Pot early in the morning. They were filmed in 2001 or so, and the hosts included Aaron Sanchez, Cat Cora, Michael Symon, and Padma Lakshmi.
