This is the second Mother's Day since my mom died. Today is also her birthday.

My dad's on his way back to Albuquerque after spending a few days with my brother and sister-in-law in Dallas. I really wish I could have been with them this weekend. In fact, I've only been to Dallas once. The only thing I wanted to do was visit the Reunion Tower. We never went during that visit, but they all went on Friday.

I really miss Jackson as well. I haven't seen him since I left Albuquerque on January 1st. This may be the longest we've been apart in ten years.

I'm extremely grateful to have so many wonderful friends. I've had a lot of fun with them this weekend. It would have been pretty rough without them.

Remember those AT&T "You Will" commercials that showed how technology would enrich our lives? It amazes me to think that we're actually doing a lot of the things now that they said we would, and that over 20,000 people have seen a video of an abscess on my back being popped.

I was just listening to "Turn it On" by Flaming Lips and was hoping someone had put the video on youtube. Turns out it's there, uploaded by Warner Brothers. They've got 785 videos posted, and I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually post all the music videos they've got. And really, why wouldn't they? A music video is a commercial for an album, and any advertiser should be happy if their commercial gets free airings. It's just good for business.

And it's only tangentially related, but check out this excellent mash-up.

Shocking, I know. We are getting our pre-func on before Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Hi. I'm nine feet tall but must always be up front even though my view is better than everyone else's wherever I am. Pleah.
