Silliness, now in handy check form!
Apr. 2nd, 2009 12:54 pmI thought I was being so productive a while back when I found all the old checks with my last apartment number from when I lived down the hall and brought them in to work so they could be shredded. Turns out I never got any new ones, and didn't notice.
I grabbed my checkbook this morning to write my rent check and it was empty. And so was the place where I keep checks. But, I have to have more since I've only lived here 18 months, I thought. Then I looked more closely at the book I'd been using. Yeah, I was using old ones this whole time.
So I ended up going to the bank to get a money order to pay rent with and also to order more checks. I walked out with a savings account and additional checking account to use for online purchases. This is the first time in my life I've had a savings account! I've been wanting one for a while, but the bank only knew my old NM driver license number, so the online applications would never work.
She also filled out an application for a new credit card for me. It would be nice to have, but no tragedy if I don't get it.
It's nice to finally have a savings account. I feel all adult or something.
