It's funny to have gone from being a person who never talked at all about work online to one who is excited about what each week brings and actually uses LinkedIn to promote what's happening at my company. It's partly due to working my way into a full-time writing position after years of freelancing, but a big part of why is because it's a really great place to work. I'm excited about what we do and the people I'm doing it with.

Speaking of freelance work, the FUNERALHOMES (that's how it's stylized on social media) shirt is a fun souvenir from that. I interviewed a few members of bands, one of which also started a cassette-based local recording label, and I scooped the local newspaper. Sure, their piece was way longer and seen by a lot more people, but it feels good to be first.

The YAY!!! shirt is a Starheadboy. I have lots of art and many shirts by him, plus three tattoos on my right foot.

Slapfight is a band name I made up years ago and I liked it so much I commissioned an artist to make the logo, which I then put on shirts for me, Alan, and AJ. This week at work during our all-company assembly call, I was the subject of a new "meet an employee" segment, which was a huge hit. We'll have one every call now, and I'm glad my new curtains were in place and I had a great shirt like Slapfight to wear.

Garrett got me that Zima shirt! Some of my best Zima stuff was gifts from other people:

- a light-up sign from my friend Nancy
- a neon sign from a bartender/DJ whose name I can't remember but who liked a stage name I suggested that I do remember
- a huge inflatable bottle my friend Stephanie talked the owner of her local corner store into giving her
- two shirts from Garrett
- coasters from our family friend Barbara who passed away a few years ago

The coworker I report directly to is an American who lives in Australia now and she was thrilled to see the Zima shirt on Thursday. Nobody else on the call had ever heard of it. I took a current photo of the Zima stuff hanging up in the lounge to show them next week. I have a lot more stuff in the garage and my office closet but I'm not really in the mood to take all this down and cram more stuff in. Maybe I should put some in my room.
