Week 13, no repeat t-shirt weeks
Jan. 20th, 2022 06:14 amIt's another short work week because Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was Monday and I'm having my first colonoscopy tomorrow. Since you can't have nuts, heavy grains, fiber, seeds, or tomatoes for a week leading up to the procedure, it's definitely been a "let's get it over with" type of week. I realized yesterday why I resent the food part so much; it's because it feels a lot like dieting, and that's something I'll never do again. And I made myself that promise so long ago that I'd completely forgotten what it feels like to not be able to eat something you want to.
Having the procedure tomorrow meant getting a covid test yesterday, my second one ever. Part of me wishes this colonoscopy wasn't happening during the big Omicron surge because it definitely seems to be catchy! So many people are turning up positive among Facebook friends. And a very well-known TikTok user I follow got it from taking her toddler to a wellness checkup appointment. But I'm already a couple of years behind schedule and if we've learned anything, things may not get better very soon.
Speaking of which, I'd like the way the local clinic is run now to be how it's run forever. It's so nice to go to an appointment and not have the building be stuffed full of sick people.
And now, the shirts. I have no idea how I ended up making them not-quite-square with Instagram but I can tell you the app was being super buggy this morning when I made the post. So I made it again and reposted the other places I post because I don't want a huge album of pictures where all but 3 are square.

The first two are gifts from Garrett. I think? He didn't remember giving me the Zima one but I remember thinking it's not a great shirt and if it weren't a gift and from something I collect I probably wouldn't still have it. It's very unusual for Zima memorabilia to be such drab colors and the fit's not great either. The Picard one is funny because it's making fun of one of my least favorite episodes.
The magic worm shirt is a fundraiser from Shifty Thrifting, which you can find on Instagram and tumblr. It's a blog showing people's weird thrift store finds and is a remake of a weird shirt someone found with some in jokes from the blog incorporated. I love magic worms and even have a tattoo with one, so of course I had to have it. It wasn't cheap, but it was a fundraiser for The Trevor Project so it was very easy to justify the expense.
