I really thought I'd be able to show my new tattoos by now since it's been 14.5 days since I got them, but they're in a spot that's very hard to heal so I've had a rough go of it and there's a lot of scabbing to contend with. Jimmy said they will definitely need touchups so we'll finally do some on my back in a few months, too. Maybe I'll finally get my back waxed again. I'm kind of tired of apologizing for the fuzzy faces on my Nagel women. But I'm not missing the cost of waxing.
I was supposed to have a tattoo appointment Wednesday but the artist rescheduled it to give himself more time to recover from--you guessed it--COVID! He's already confirmed that he's fine and I'll see him tomorrow. He's the same one who did my Friday the 31st and Threshold tattoos, and I've been trying to get in to see him since October for another Star Trek one. If you're a fan you might be able to guess what it'll be if you realize I got a Threshold one because it's the most ridiculous Voyager episode and now I'm doing one from the most ridiculous TNG.
Today's going to be a very long day because I woke up at midnight and didn't fall back asleep. I watched a couple of episodes of Sliders in bed before getting up because my back hurt. I took a break from Sliders to watch Models, Inc., the one-season spinoff from Melrose Place. They're recapping it on Melrose Place Cast, which is currently the only podcast I listen to other than my own. I figured I'd watch and that way I'd be available if they want to have me as a guest. Or maybe Teege will ask me to join all those episodes since his cohost Mary refuses to watch? That'd be fun. He was quite shocked that I'm already done with the whole series since they've only posted about episodes 1 and 2 so far.
Oh yeah, back to tomorrow. The timing's slightly unfortunate because we have a new hire at work and I'll be her onboarding buddy, but not around on her first day. But that's not a reason to miss any kind of appointment, much less one that's very hard to get, that I waited five months for, that was also rescheduled. He's no longer working in a tattoo shop, opting instead for a small studio in a larger salon space that's divided up so people can work alone with their clients. The cool thing is that it's in the same shopping center as the Korean spa so I can hang out there a couple of hours beforehand. And there's a Jack in the Box right there too so I can get a very quick lunch before I see him at noon.
Right now I'm just waiting until it's a somewhat decent time to leave for my Sunday walk. It'll probably be dark the entire time I'm out no matter what thanks to the time change.
I think these shirts that I chose not to wear to work speak for themselves. I've had the first one since maybe 2007?

The reason I have two DILF shirts is that I got the blue one first and didn't think it was easy enough to read.
I have one shirt that I didn't wear which is a banh mi shirt that I got for Banh Meetup 3, which was supposed to happen in April 2020. I'm not sure when it'll finally happen but hopefully it's in 2023 because I've already thought of a nice way to arrange the name Banh Meetup 3 and 2023 on images. Though I will say I'm not actually looking forward to doing the party again as much as I did the first two. I used to have a lot more spending money and I don't think people realize how expensive all that can be. Especially since next time I plan to feed everyone half or 1/3 of each sandwich since 1/4 isn't always a great sampling, especially on the ends. So that would come to three sandwiches each for every guest, plus gift bags, drinks, snacks, and supplies.
That's why I get so annoyed when people don't even look at your invitation link. You spend hundreds of dollars and they can't be bothered to look, much less RSVP? I honestly can't decide which is worse, those people or the ones who say they'll come but don't. Facebook needs to add the option to remove the "maybe" reply, too. Some types of parties require a headcount and a maybe doesn't work.
The main thing that motivates me to do the party again is that there are people I've met since the second one that are very excited to be included in the third. Maybe I should charge a cover.
