Memorial tattoo for Dad
Aug. 10th, 2022 09:08 amDad didn't like tattoos, but he never said so again after I showed him the weeping willow on my left arm that's a memorial for Mom. That was probably 14 years ago, and a little while later I decided what I'd get when he eventually passed.
Bowling was always a big part of our lives, to the extent that my earliest memory is in one of several bowling alleys my mom worked in over the years. We all bowled year round, including as a team in the summer family foursome league. Dad nearly rolled three perfect games: 299 twice, and a 298. And to rub salt in the wound, he witnessed a 300 when he stopped by the bowling alley with someone to show them his 299 photo on the wall of fame.
Many thanks to Catfish Doane for this wonderful memorial. I've dreaded the day I'd get it for a very long time, but he gave me exactly what I wanted and was a lot of fun to work with.
