They say that you're safest from COVID just after you've had it, and unfortunately I ended up with direct experience. After three weeks of being sick and three weeks of being well, I had a major exposure event. And it was with a friend who woke up sick and tested positive the next day, so he was as contagious as possible.

The advice for people who have an exposure soon after being sick is to not bother testing unless they have symptoms, and if they do, to wait five days. I ended up feeling pretty awful a few days into it, but tested negative on day five. Yesterday was day six, and I felt completely wiped out most of the day, but still tested negative.

Don't mistake the highly-likely positive outcome for an easy process. Your immunity post COVID might be great for a while at fighting it, but it'll take all your energy to do it.
