A language about to be lost forever
Apr. 12th, 2023 01:08 pmI talked about tattoo touchups before and how all ten of my knuckle tattoos would need them. That placement is notorious for "holidays" which are gaps in the ink once everything's healed up. Totally expected. I'll be addressing those on Friday when Jimmy will extend the sleeve on my left arm down and tattoo the back of my left hand as well. He noticed that where the sleeve ends on my wrist also needs touchups.

If it wasn't for the new work being done, I might not have ever gotten the touchups. It has always looked like some sort of magical language my skin created. Another view:

The consultation for Friday's tattoo was interesting. I went into it hoping to end up with the pattern of the sleeve transitioning into a geometrical pattern, but Jimmy advised against it because skin is flexible and things like optical illusions and pop art work really well on perfectly flat surfaces. I ended up looking at my "wanna do" list and picked something I've wanted as a tattoo since college. It was supposed to be my first tattoo for a long time, actually.
I'm not going to jinx it by sharing ahead of time. I'll post a photo as soon as I can get a good one.
