If my new jewelry had taken any longer to arrive, I would have waited until after my hiking trip next month to get the piercing done because I figure six weeks of healing is the very least I should give myself. Of course at the time I also didn't think about needing to take time off regular walks in the meantime. I can't imagine a hike would go all that well without at least a couple of weeks of good regular walks leading up to it.

But now I don't really have the option anyway. Air quality has been terrible recently, so I'm staying indoors as much as possible. If it wasn't for having a dog, I'd hardly be outside at all. So it's actually a perfect time to chill out inside and let a piercing heal.

If the air quality doesn't get better in a couple of weeks, I hope to spend a lot of time on the walking track at the Y leading up to the trip. And if the air quality is bad during the trip, I'll just relax, enjoy some nice meals, and skip the hike altogether.

I probably won't be in the pool until after that trip because I have one more tattoo scheduled September 8, two weeks before I head up. And then I'll have some catching up to do, money wise. It's fine, my long list of tattoos to get and new jewelry to switch to will be waiting for me.
