Make a SNALIEN
Aug. 6th, 2024 01:42 pmBack at that job where I worked with a lot of other (then-active) LJ users, we liked having lots of toys around. The job involved listening intently to recordings so it was good to have something to do with your hands. Nick and I really loved this set of tiny little figures with swappable heads. I remember there was a robot, a snail, and an alien, as well as at least two others. We especially enjoyed the way the package showed a snail body with an alien head with the caption, "Make a SNALIEN."
Nick and I said that to each other a LOT. I'm really quite surprised I don't have any photos of the toy. I'd love to have a set again.
A snalien tattoo has been on my list for quite a while and when Nick showed up in my FB notifications the other day, I realized it was time to get it. Unfortunately for Keith at the shop, someone who scheduled a full day with him was a no-call/no-show. But that made him available for my walk-in, and I got to choose the alien head from a page of five he'd drawn.
Funnily enough, I tried unsuccessfully to get this as a walk-in a few days earlier from someone else. I wish I could see how different it would have been if she'd drawn it.
