Right around the time we got Tilly, I met a nice woman from the neighborhood named Brenda who was walking a sweet giant blind dog named Polo. We were talking about training dogs and she said she knew someone who had his dog so well trained, it'd instantly take a dump when he said, "Get busy." It never occurred to me to have separate words of encouragement for pee and poop, so we stole the idea and Tilly is very good about getting busy after breakfast and dinner. Like, the moment the bowl is empty.
Tuvix gets busy during his morning and evening walks, preferring to use the neighborhood as his toilet rather than his own yard. I don't know if he's responding at all but I say to get busy when he's about to do it and praise him for his good busies when he's done.
It's good that I like this song because it's been in my head every day and will be for a long time.
