21. It’s National California Strawberry Day. What is your favourite way to eat strawberries?
I like to eat plain strawberries whole, including the tops and leaves. I even eat just the tops and leaves sometimes because Garrett won't and he'll set them aside for me. Chocolate covered strawberries are decent. The best way to eat one is when they're served at a gathering or when they're given out as samples at a store. Strawberries cut up, tossed in sugar, and left alone until they get all juicy are amazing. Garrett's not a fan but I love strawberry shortcake made with that.
22. Do you still buy physical books, or do you tend to buy e-books these days? Does it depend on the type of book (i.e. fiction or non-fiction)?
Since I barely read any more, I'm more likely to get a physical book since my Kindle's old anyway and I'd rather have something to show for my purchase. And I recently learned if you want to help an author become a New York Times best seller, you need to pre-order the hardcover version. Unrelated to that, my most recent book purchase was the Grillo's pickle cookbook.
23. When was the last time you ate some chocolate?
This morning. I eat a square of chocolate every day before my second cup of coffee.
24. Harry Houdini was born today in 1874. Are you a fan of magic shows? Have you ever seen someone perform close-up magic?
Magic shows are pretty cool, though I'd rather watch juggling, and I think both should be funny. My all-time favorite juggling show is available in several parts on YouTube so I made a playlist. We watched that special so many times when it was new. I can't say I've seen close-up magic.
25. How often do you wash your hair? Do you style it, or just let it dry naturally?
I wash my hair every day, twice if I teach a class. I style it because it looks really dumb without gel in it unless it's long enough to lay down a bit. In college when I had hair down to the small of my back, I let it dry naturally. I actually went back to bed for a while after showering to let it dry on the pillow, there was a lot of it!
